The Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO™) training is delivered as a two-day (16-hour) live virtual class (LVC) program. The sessions are interactive and hands-on, led by Certified Scrum Trainers (CSTs®), ensuring you gain practical knowledge that can be applied immediately at work.

Yes. The Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO™) training includes practical exercises, and real-world case studies that simulate challenges faced by Product Owners. This helps learners apply Agile and Scrum concepts effectively in real workplace scenarios.

No exam is required. Successful completion of the training program automatically qualifies you for the CSPO™ certification from Scrum Alliance®. 

It is important that you join the program on time. Do note that if you are late, the Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) may not allow you to join the program. Therefore, you will not be eligible for the CSPO certification.

There are no mandatory prerequisites for attending the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO™) program. However, having basic knowledge of Agile principles or Scrum practices can make the training more beneficial.

Certified Scrum Product Owner Certification & Exam

There are no eligibility criteria set for the Scrum Product Owner certification. Any professional looking to further his career in management can attend the course and attempt the test.

However, each participant is expected to have some basic knowledge of Agile/Scrum. We recommend reading the Official Scrum Guide prior to attending training.

Following are the steps involved in the certification process:

The first step toward your CSPO is familiarizing yourself with Scrum. Then attend an in-person, two day (16 hour) CSPO course taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer. You will be eligible for 16 Scrum Education Units (SEUs) upon successful completion of this course.

This course will help you understand how Scrum works by focusing on your role as the Product Owner, or customer, for a Scrum team. Topics that are covered include managing stakeholders, ROI, backlog grooming, creating effective user stories, acceptance criteria for user stories, and definination of done.
