Maintaining your SCRUMstudy certification

Earning a SCRUMstudy certification demonstrates your understanding of Scrum and serves as a powerful way to showcase your expertise to potential employers. As a certified professional, itā€™s essential to maintain the active status of your certification.

Each SCRUMstudy certificate is valid for three (3) years and must be renewed within three calendar years from the issue date. To ensure your certification remains current, SCRUMstudy requires you to fulfill continuing education requirements. This ensures you stay up-to-date with the latest skills and trends that organizations value while maintaining your certification status.

As the Scrum and Agile fields continue to evolve, itā€™s crucial for practitioners to stay informed of new developments. SCRUMstudy regularly updates the SBOK Guide based on industry feedback and Agile advancements. To maintain your certification, SCRUMstudy encourages you to refresh your knowledge periodically, ensuring you remain current and meet the necessary requirements.

How to get recertified:

You can renew your SCRUMstudy certification through any of the following methods:

Option - 1

Recertification Examination:

To renew your existing certification, you can pass the recertification exam for the credential(s) you hold. For example, if you are certified as a Scrum Master Certified (SMC), you can extend your certification for another 3 years by passing the SMC Recertification exam. This option also includes an online preparatory course to help you prepare for the recertification exam.

Option - 2

Earning a New SCRUMstudy Certification:

By passing any other SCRUMstudy certification exam, you will not only earn a new certification but also renew your existing certification(s) for another 3 years. For example, if you hold the SDC certification, you can earn another SCRUMstudy certification such as SMC, SAMC, or SPOC. This will update your knowledge with the latest concepts from the SBOKā„¢ Guide while automatically extending your current certification.

Important Notes:

  1. If you hold multiple SCRUMstudy certifications, they will all be renewed for an additional 3 years from the date of passing any new certification exam or recertification exam.
  2. If your certification has expired, you can still renew it as a one-time exception. This option is available for a limited time and may change in the future.

Yes, if you hold multiple SCRUMstudy certifications, they will all be renewed together for another three years once you pass a recertification exam or acquire a new certification.

To update your SCRUMstudy certification, you need to either pass a recertification exam for your current credential or earn a different SCRUMstudy certification. If you fail in your first attempt, you will get 2 additional retake chances for free.
