No. Unlike some certifications, there is no separate exam for A-CSM®. Once you successfully complete the training and meet Scrum Alliance’s requirements, you will be granted the Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM®) credential.

Prerequisites:

Only a CSM can apply for A-CSM certification. If you are a CSM, you have to attend a certified educational offering, where you will be provided with a set of techniques and skills that go beyond the basics and mechanics of Scrum, expanding into interaction, facilitation, coaching, and team dynamics. 

After successfully completing all Educator-designed components of an approved educational offering, all that is left is for you to demonstrating at least one-year work experience specific to the role of ScrumMaster (from within the past five years).

To earn an Advanced CSM, you first must have an active CSM® certification with Scrum Alliance®. Students must successfully complete all Educator-designed components of an approved educational offering (such as our A–CSM workshop), in addition to demonstrating at least one-year work experience specific to the role of ScrumMaster, within the past five years.
Yes, you can. You can attend the A-CSM workshop without having the required work experience. The required work experience is a requirement that can be met before, during or after you have completed the A-CSM coursework. Do note that you will get you’re A-CSM certification from Scrum Alliance only when you fulfill the one year ScrumMaster experience requirement. Once you have your required work experience, you will need update the same on your Scrum Alliance dashboard in order to successfully complete the A-CSM certification.

Currently there is no test in place for the advanced certification, though one might be introduced in the future.

Your A-CSM™ certification is good for two years. At this moment, the process for renewal is being determined. You may expect to receive details about the renewal process in the near future in SA website.
